HTML Characters

Greater-than and less-than signs have special meaning within HTMLdocuments and, because of this, can't be used on a web page unless theyare specified in a particular way. These special characters arespecified in HTML by "surrounding" a simple description of them with anampersand (&) and a semi-colon (;).
